Aug. 15th, 2004 03:44 pmThis weekend, since I wasn't working, I watched a lot of Olympics. Also a lot of soccer with you-know-who.
I admit, I couldn't keep my crabby comments to myself while watching the opening ceremonies. I giggled at the 400-year lacuna in Greek history, though, and how it was so gracefully glossed over in the float parade portion. I also critiqued the interpretation of famous Minoan artwork by Bob Costas. G. gave me that "you know too much for your own good" look again, and it's true, I do. How did I become so fluent in art history, for example, without ever even having taken one class? I sure don't think it was osmosis via posing for those drawing classes.*
Also, Mr. Costas, please! Those are laurel wreaths, not olive wreaths.
P.S. NBC is still interrupting Olympic soccer matches with commercials. Hmf.
* Yes, I was an art model, too. Didja know that? Would you have ever guessed? Bonus points if you can name the last year that I worked that particular job.

Date: 2004-08-16 09:47 am (UTC)It's not a case of me thinking that you know too much for your own good. It's a case of you knowing so much it shocks me that knowledge doesn't ooze outta your ears.
Although thinking about it that does fit the definition of too much knowledge being bad for you. Ears oozing knowledge just can't be good for you.
Okay now I'm sounding like a Gilmore Girls episode. I'll stop here.
