pantryslutOh yeah, apologies to the people who threw two out of three parties that I missed on Saturday.
Saturday was my day of catching up on errands that I have neglected during the busy, busy month of September. The biggest -- I bought a stereo receiver to replace my dearly beloved and now departed 25-year-old Yamaha unit that I inherited from my parents. My brother was two years old when my family bought it. The Klipsch speakers, bought a few years before that, are still going strong in my parents' house. It is a sady day to move on from the Yamaha -- sad, but inevitable.

gordonzola, always a joy. He even offered me a sample of a blue cheese that I *liked*.
And forn_elisbeth's potluck party-slash-birthday-spanking, I made a variation of the Ubiquitous Melon Salad, this time with Pernod and mint instead of Grand Marnier and berries. *So good*. But those were the last melons of the season, folks, so savor the leftovers.
