Jan. 13th, 2005 03:21 pmFigured some things out, am working on others:
1) Contradictorily, I am feeling the desire to go out with friends, and stay in under the covers (preferably festooned with cats). I am needy for company and I am needy for comfort. Also see #3.
2) I blame January. But it’s so nice to see the light coming back, not to leave work in darkness. Yet so cold!
3) I had an introvert/extrovert insight that I can't share yet. (You'll guess that I am the former.) Actually, make that two. So meanwhile: do you think you're an innie or an outie?
4) Gotta figure out that writing thing. Getting itchy. Itchy and at loose ends project-wise is never fun and tends to make me cranky over time.
5) But hey, Monday is a holiday. I bet I could get in some quality time with a notebook or word processor then. Despite poker late that afternoon. But poker is just about my speed these days; see #1.
6) While we're on the subject, I think I may be in a place to submit some of my poetry for publication. I haven't tried this for, oh, ten years or so. (I have the greatest collection of encouraging rejection slips in the whole wide world. And a few credits, too.) Advice, suggestions, even just supportive words welcome.
7) I think it’s time, in addition to Happy Hour, to schedule more lunches. I’ll be calling or e-mailing soon.
8) I still owe you all the Tale of the Corset.
