The cleanup afterwards was fairly nightmarish, but we got an early start on it thanks to the DJs being in the other room. And people were saints -- there was a decent number of people slogging away at getting the goop off everything. When we got done, we realized there was pie goop on the ceiling! That room has high ceilings, too!
Still waiting to find out how much the event cost to put on -- we're going to have to pay to clean some curtains, and also Liz bought some of the supplies... I'm guessing we made some money, but not as much as we'd hoped. It was a pretty expensive event to put on, when you factor in the cost of 100 pies, a bunch of ballerina costumes, cleanup supplies, and a sound system for the DJs.
On the other hand, it generated amazing publicity for the magazine -- three newspapers and a bunch of web sites made us their weekly pick, and we were also plugged on KFOG! And I sort of look at it this way: we did a big, fancy photo shoot for the magazine, and made a profit on it instead of having it cost us a lot of money!
