Apr. 11th, 2005 10:34 amRemember when I said I wasn't writing? I lied.
I have nothing even vaguely resembling a word count, I have no outline or plot, but I had a big chunk of a Project fall into place on the walk home from BART on Friday. Along with a voice, and the first few paragraphs. Now, as promised, I have finished and set aside my previous book and am wandering around with a notebook and a research book, taking notes and scribbling down fragments of prose.
There is no rush. I will have time for other things. I'm taking it easy and seeing where things lead, I'm not forcing it. It's kinda nice.
I'm also amused at the strength of the "voice in my head" moment. You see, I live with a writer,
imnotandrei, who is continually visited by characters with extremely powerful voices and points of view. He can have conversationw with them too. I am not, and I cannot. Except now. Well, I still can't have a conversation -- I am overhearing, not discussing.
Anyway.
Didn't make stock, but I will.
Did finish loading the majority of my music collection onto my replacement iPod (the old one died under warranty). Then forgot to bring it in for my commute. Oh well.
Speaking of which, never underestimate the power of a well-chosen set of discs on "shuffle." I got all sorts of compliments for the party music on Saturday. Apparently I do music like I do food -- really, it's less effort than it looks, but I am glad it was so enjoyable.
I also got all sorts of compliments for the top I was wearing. Never, ever have I worn an item of clothing that got so many comments, not even my "Zoma the Sadist" t-shirt or the fuzzy zebra-stripe skirt. It was very, very weird for a non-fashion-oriented person like me.
Miscellaneous trivia time over! Unless you want to hear weird tidbits of info about the Queen of Sheba (cf. "research book" above), like how she's supposed to sit in judgement over "the current generation" come Judgement Day. It says so in the Gospels! What, you missed that part?

That is the most wonderful feeling ever, when that happens.
