Lunch

For lunch today: Tomato sandwiches, for the second time this weekend. (Wheat toast, mayo, cheddar, and one small summer tomato, cut into slices.) Plus a Charentais melon, which is like a cantaloupe only smaller and -- perfumier? less watery? Concentrated.

Which reminds me that this week, I will have to manage lunch on my own, without Steven, for the first time in over a year (in a sustained sense, at least).

Lunch is the meal that I am worst at. On my own, I can usually scrounge something for dinner, and I have a pretty set breakfast plan. Lunch is hard. I confess it, I don't cook well for myself. It's not that I don't think I deserve good food or anything like that. Blame it on me being a Leo if you must -- just like I find it hard to write something that's never intended to have an audience, so I find it hard to cook something that's never intended to be shared.

So, I have to think about lunch for the next week. Leftovers work well sometimes, but not consistently enough for me to rely on them (hey, I'm not a big re-reader either, to continue my parallel).

What do you do for lunch? Any suggestions, tips, or just yummy meals to share?
