"If the writer's finished work is truly his child, please accept this arrogant, bellicose, disrespectful, adolescent child of mine into the summer camp of your journal. I have explored all possible opportunities for correction, and I feel that your special program is my last hope for turning my child to the path I intended...that of an upright, outspoken citizen of our Nation. If you cannot accept him into your journal program, I may be forced to send him off to Father O'Malley's Home For Wayward Written Pieces, so I would like, instead, to place him in an attitude-correction facility that offers him a voice and self-awareness that will bring my boy back to me as a man."
