redbird: list the poets you have books of poetry by.
This is not a complete list, because I have at least three boxes full of slim little poetry volumes, still packed and waiting for their bookshelf to arrive in the bedroom. But here are a few (!) off the top of my head:
This list is so long, in fact, that I'm going to organize it alphabetically.
Dorothy Allison
Margaret Atwood
Robert Browning (The Ring and the Book, my engagement "ring")
Pat Califia
Justin Chin
Chrystos
Sandra Cisneros
Lucille Clifton
e.e. cummings
Diane Di Prima
Jack Driscoll
Steven Dunn
Lawrence Ferlinghetti
Sandra Gilbert
Allen Ginsberg
Louise Gluck
Jewelle Gomez
Judy Grahn
Susan Griffin
Marilyn Hacker
Joy Harjo
H.D.
Thea Hillman
Ed Hirsch
Andrew Hudgins
Ho Xuan Huong
Faye Kicknosway
Galway Kinnell
Judith Minty
Robin Morgan
Liesel Mueller
Novalis
Pat Parker
Gerry Gomez Pearlberg
Marge Piercy
Sylvia Plath
Minnie Bruce Pratt
Adrienne Rich
Theodore Roethke
Sapphire
Sappho
Anne Sexton
Anita Skeen
Charles Simic
Dave Smith
Mark Strand
James Thomson ("City of Dreadful Night")
Diane Wakowski
Bruce Weigl
Walt Whitman
and of course
final_girl.
I think I've hit the highlights; there will be scattered other single volumes that I've spaced on.
I'm needlessly pleased at the number of living poets on my list, btw.
