Material Needs

In additon to conceptual items like a career change and all, I have a couple pressing material needs.

1) New shoes.

2) A haircut.

The shoes should probably be bought at a place that specializes in walking/hiking shoes or something similar, as my feet are small (compared to the rest of me) and need special consideration.

The haircut should be from someone who isn't going to try and point my sideburns or tell me that no, surely I don't want it *that* short.

I'm trolling for suggestions again...non-local folks are still free help me with my conceptual needs instead.

I get my walking shoes at a tiny little store on Bancroft between Dana and Ellsworth, facing the Berkeley campus; I don't know their name. They have a fine selection for a tiny store, and they're very nice, and I always leave feeling like I've supported a local business that deserves it.

The woman who cuts my hair is hugely geographically inconvenient; she'd do what you want, but I think you could do better in the East Bay.

free shaves over here in the city and no way would anyone say you don't want it that short - at least not in this house.
