The thing I can't handle about sports in San Jose is one specific location: Spartan Stadium. Yeah, yeah, I know, the San Jose State Spartans. But I grew up in East Lansing, Michigan -- home of a wee bit more famous college team called the Spartans. We used to walk to Spartan Stadium (the football -- not futbol -- stadium) for games. Every time I hear "Spartan Stadium in San Jose," my head hurts.
Walked by the stadium on Berkeley's campus today, whatever its name is. First thing I thought was, "that's not a real stadium; the outer walls are scalable. What do you do when the sports riots hit?"
imnotandrei suggested that the Teddy Bears don't win enough for that to be a problem.
