1. I continue to enjoy my new haircut. It looks vaguely nerdy but charming without product, and entirely dashing and charming with.

2. I did not roast the crab, but I cracked it and I made the sauce. A little butter, a little garlic and shallot, a little citrus, some salt and pepper and thyme. It was messy and delicious and just what I needed yesterday.

3. This morning, I finally, after innumerable tries, made the Caltrain connection that allowed me to get to work at a decent hour on my own -- and meant I didn't have to stand around at Millbrae for an hour in inadequate outerwear.

And I misread that as "inadequate underwear".

I have discovered that getting off at Powell and biking over to 4th & King lets me have a slightly shorter commute, time-wise. Walking works too, though I think one needs to be a fast walker.

The *just* missing the train at Milbrae thing got old very quickly, and just missing the train at 4th and King is better in that there is coffee and food there, as well as the Safeway and Walgreens to go read cheesy magazines in while waiting that half hour.

Hm. If I biked, this would definitely be something to consider. Also, I am a fast walker...

The downside of biking is that bikes on BART are verboten from 7 to 9am. You can take them on the ferry, which is a lovely ride, but that kinda undermines the speedy commute goal.

So - have you yet tried the BART-to-Dumbarton-Express route?

Yes, I tried that Friday. The connection is more robust, but the trip itself is a lot longer. If I miss the first Caltrain I get there earlier via Dumbarton, but if I make it, Caltrain is much faster.
