Friday: G. gets laid off of work. Yes, I am now on unpaid leave, and my baby daddy is now on severance. I think I am now officially looking to pick up some freelance work while I'm on leave, folks. More on that later. I suppose I really should get my web site in shape, too.
We 'celebrated' by going to Midnight Mass Sing-Along Purple Rain, which was way too much fucking fun. Seriously.
Saturday: we recover from staying up until 3 am the night before.
Sunday: we get up way too early in the morning to traipse around San Francisco, following the marathon. G.'s former partner, you see, is running in it -- they've been training partners all summer (G. rides his bike). This includes a long stop-off to eat breakfast with
beckastar in the Haight and meet her new puppy. She also brings me a nice chair to sit in while we watch the runners, who include a guy in full gladiator costume, and another guy with very handsome tattoos encircling his calves.
The whole thing was really a lot more fun than I would have anticipated. So many regular people, running so far! All ages, all shapes and sizes. And family and friends everywhere, flowers, pictures -- it was a big party, with just the right buzz.
Was that enough? No! After a nap, we went to the park for a going-away picnic until G. started crashing out for lack of sleep. I now have a big mosquito bite on my leg as a souvenir.
Next weekend is not likely to be less busy :)
And this week: one lunch date, two doctor's appointments! Whee!
