Or: Yes I Do Requests
and also: yes, this is what I am procrastinating on

Once upon a time, in a land very far away, I used to be a sex writer. Those were the days, my friend.

It feels all very far away, though, right now, because right now apparently my brain is completely parched for ideas. Of any sort, really, but most especially for sex. Er, sex writing.

This kinda sucks, though, because I've got an upcoming show and some freelance leads and some checks to earn and all that good stuff.

So.

Why not brainstorm for with me?

If you could hire me to write about sex, what would you ask me to write?

Fiction or nonfiction. Scratch that. Fiction and nonfiction. All suggestions gladly taken.

OK I can help :)

Maybe this gets covered a lot and I just haven't seen it, but: Is there ANYTHING out there for lesbians/bi women with (a) female partner(s) to use that isn't a dental dam or a cut up condom? And other stuff about safer sex for girls who like girls would be great since I don't know what the fuck I'm doing half the time.

What about this oft-quoted fact that lesbians are at the lowest risk of contracting HIV and several other STDs (not chlamydia, naturally; I think it's fairly well known that that's just a risk for everybody).

I know that a bunch of lesbian sex guides have covered this to death, but I still think there are lots of queer gals (ME!) who need ideas for positions. Especially if they're virgins or very new to sex. Maybe a virgin's guidebook for lesbians?

YES! I've been bi forever but haven't done much with women due to long monogamous relationship w/man, and recently started doing all sorts of research on safe lesbian sex, and find very little out there about how often lesbians actually USE dental dams and such. I keep thinking, would it be considered weird/unsexy/pointless/overly cautious, etc. if I actually used one of those?

And then the questions of how lesbian culture works (as opposed to het culture) in terms of can I just pick up a woman and fuck or do there have to be dates, or is that kind of thing only acceptable at sex parties and in the kink communities, etc. etc. etc.

I know this is stuff that should come naturally to me but it just so happens that I've been ensconced in the straight world regardless of my frequent desire in the other direction.

Clearly there is a need for "the bi girl's guide to lesbian sex" or somesuch. Hm.

I'd buy that. No pun intended, I swear.

I would totally read that. I've been having sex with women for longer than I've been having sex with men, and I still feel lost sometimes. I feel like men are easy to please but women intimidate me. Still!

Since a prior respondent asked, "can I just pick up a woman and fuck or do there have to be dates, or is that kind of thing only acceptable at sex parties and in the kink communities, etc.", I propose a title for one part of this:

"The queer woman's guide to Craigslist Casual Encounters."

Depends on the queer subculture; it's a norm in some dyke scenes and not in others. To me, someone who doesn't come pre-prepared with supplies, or ask me upfront if I have any because they left theirs at home, is likely to ping my risk-meter as someone I'm less interested in a casual hook-up with. Safe sex is hotter than many of the possible alternatives.

For [livejournal.com profile] pantryslut, I'll loan you the topic of a rant I've never actually written: "WTF can't I buy safe-sex supplies in the drugstore other than in the 'first aid' aisle?" When I can't go to CVS/Walgreens and see gloves and dams right next to the condoms, I think, hmm, someone doesn't think the sex I have is "real," or an STD risk. Or sometimes, hmm, that's patriarchy in action.

Thanks! I agree with the safe sex being hotter than any other, which is why I'm fretting over all of this. I guess I have to find the right dyke scenes. I was never good at navigating that stuff with guys either, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

An article about how STD transmission is more likely in serial monogamists who don't use condoms than it is in people with multiple poly partners who do.

Something examining our attitudes towards furries (whom many people consider the butt of Internet jokes) and comparing them with our attitudes towards homosexuality, BDSM, or other alternative sexualities in past decades. And whether furries might become more mainstream over time.

If I could hire you to write about sex, what would I ask you to write?

I'd ask you to pick oh let's say five hot scenes/sexual encounters that you've actually had, what it looked like to the people watching (what made it hot for them) and what it felt like inside your head (what made it hot for you.)

I would like a survey of sex determination systems, both genetic and environmental, with special attention to plants. Genes in Conflict didn't focus on that, but had some interesting related material.

Funny you should ask; my (fictional) Thing actually incorporates a lot of info on sex determination systems in animals. (No plants, sorry.)

I really enjoyed the PPO pieces that were more manifesto-y (imnotandrei, Greta, Horehound). If you could write a sexuality/sex related manifesto, what would you write about?

Write something that makes you blush and feel a little uncomfortable. Write about something that even you are afraid to fantasize about. Write a gigantic fuck you to the notion that sex can ever be "safe." ;)

That's all I'm giving you....you've got it from there....

I want one of my stories. I would love it if you would write that -but I think there is no market for it except me, ok maybe 20 other people, but I don't think it can be sold.

you probably remember, but your basic non-fiction styled fiction on raising your child. hmm maybe it isn't safe.

I'd love a story about a trans woman and a cis woman. And if you know of any dirty, kinky ones out there already, pretty please let me know.

Other than that I'd like a story with a cis bi woman topping a cis guy and the sex is hella dirty and the woman narrates and her worldview is obviously queer. The sex should not be described in heterosexual language.

one more thing I would love to read - interviews with lesbian master/slaves in full time relationships. I just read one about men in those relationships and it was fascinating. something like Ask He Who Owns them or something like that. very matter of fact, revealing day to day life. would also love to see intervws of 'old guard' leather folks.

A bit late to the game here, and maybe this is done elsewhere, but what about a good, thorough guide on how to plan and run a sex party?
