1. I have accepted an invitation to be on the roster for My Sucky Valentine. Considering how "that's so sweet!" my stories have all been lately, I have no idea what I'm going to read, but I have a week and a half or so to figure it out. Details to follow shortly, but the short version is: Valentine's Day, Center for Sex & Culture, 8 pm, $15-25 (no-one turned away etc.)
2. I had a lovely time at
queershoulder's birthday dinner and drinks event last night. It was good to get out of the house and have adult conversations with cool people I don't even really know! And I got to eat a dish called "Big L. Fiery Szechuan Chili Fish," too, and who could resist that?
3. On our way to dinner, we walked by Little Star Pizza in the Mission. Man, that smells good.
4. We also walked by "Rosa Parks Lane." I remarked that, really, any street memorializing Rosa Parks should be a bus-only thoroughfare.
5. One of the subjects I got to talk about at dinner were urban farms on top of abandoned highway on- and offramps -- specifically, the project going on in Hayes Valley, but the whole concept just makes me gleeful.
