Red. Red. Red. Red. Green. Blue. Red.

Plot's a little thin, but I like the character development.

...but the ending is *so* predictable.

P.S.: What's this mean to you?

What's this mean to you?

Seriously? I used it as an example of how easily narrative is imposed on text in a discussion last night.

Fabulous.

P.S.: Look at all your would-be cinematic agents, popping out of
the woodwork! I remember your work from *before* it went
Hollywood... ;->

Have you read Understanding Comics (http://www.powells.com/cgi-bin/biblio?inkey=1-0878162437-14)? At one point, Scott McCloud does something similar in comic-book form, leading you into a (visually) blank space of (illustrated) sound effects... you can't help but create closure.

BTW, here's what I read into it: "I held the world at arm's length for a long time (red, red, red, red), until I let someone in (green); they left me sad (blue), and now I'm closed off again (red)."

Yes, I have read Understanding Comics. Great book.

I love your interpretation, too.

Soon To Be A Major Motion Picture...

....with script by Donald Kaufman, directed by Alan Smithee.

You'll be amazed how much passion Marlon Brando can put into the first "Red", or how sultry Madonna looks when she says...."Green."

Not to mention the heartfelt cry of "Red!" after 70 minutes of tough, gritty defence goes a little too far in the Hometown FC Vs. Evil Megateam match.

A movie for the ages.

With a soundtrack by Philip Glass, I'd wager. He'd spin wheels within wheels, with cruelly repetitious leitmotifs for "red" and "green" -- and a shocking break in the pattern for "blue."

You're wrong. Red and blue, being primary colors, would get the similar motifs; green would be the break in the pattern.

Reminds me of that movie America's Sweethearts. The director sends the first reel of his movie after promising it forever. And it's the title of the movie. That's it. He says on the phone "Do you like it? I could also do it in blue"

That's a wonderful tale of the short-lived life on Mars.
