In the interests of not starting a fight in someone else's LJ, I am saying this here:

You know, my brother once expressed to me a desire to get pregnant once technology permitted. Nobody's ever questioned his sincerity--or his gender. And he's hardly the first man I've heard express similar sentiments.

So maybe the next person who thinks it's OK to so question a trans man who wants to get pregnant will take note of people like my brother and think twice before they open their mouth and say something really quite rude.

I'd not run across this before, but now that you say it, it makes sense: I'm a cisgendered woman who has never wanted to be pregnant, and in fact actively want not to be. So decoupling the two is plausible.
