Aug. 30th, 2010 12:52 pmMy head is filled with the turmoil of current and recent events this morning. The five-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Glenn Beck. Park 51.
There's been an ongoing discussion in my household about keeping the word "fascism" in a locked case labeled "In Case of Emergency, Break Glass." In this era of deliberately disingenuous rhetoric, we do not want to join the ranks of those who throw around words sloppily, for their emotional effect more than their precision of analysis. We think it's time to break the glass.
And to do more than that. More than just speak out. More than just give money. It's time to organize. I've got my ear to the ground.
