#1, to me, is the most salient point. Especially with the release of the official statement, it feels too much to me like we are again asking the people most hurt to do the heaviest of lifting. And that's not sitting well with me today.

You know I see the value in all of these points, and believe me, I am thinking very hard about the first one in particular.

That being said, I wish that you had acknowledged your history with WisCon and your awareness of how hard it would be to be in the decision-maker's position.

I can do that separately, and will.

I deleted a statement from an earlier draft of this post to that effect, b/c I felt it detracted from the main point and made it All About Me And My Terrible (white woman's) Burden, and when that burden's entirely theoretical to boot, it just felt entirely inappropriate.
