Jan. 31st, 2011 02:35 pm1. I had really exciting migraine aura symptoms this weekend! Mostly, thankfully, unaccompanied by actual pain -- though I was really run down on Sunday morning -- so I got to enjoy the novelty of it all. I had a little cloud of glittery confetti in the center of my vision for a while, and then a bullet hole just off-center. This is just hours after I'd described how boring my usual migraine aura is (and also how it tends to happen after the pain has set in rather than before, thus making me a Curiosity) -- just a little trickle of a river running through the corner of my vision. Much of this is extra-enhanced by my strong nearsightedness. Whee!
2. Also, tinnitus. I have had brief flares of tinnitius all my life. Just a high tone sounding off in one ear and loss of all other hearing in that same ear; the tone isn't uncomfortable, it's just all there is for thirty to ninety seconds. Apparently this doesn't happen to to other people, and after forty years on this planet and migraines for as long as I can remember, I finally put two and two together.
3. I went out three times last week! Including back-to-back events on Friday and Saturday nights! I'm living the Wild Life, I tell you. The Wild Life, btw, involves stellar art (Sins Invalid), bookstores, Mexican food, stickers, and stains on my shirt. And napping in the car to the tune of Stephanie Pepitone's Rockin' Kids Sing-a-Long CD. Because that's how we parents roll.

Date: 2011-02-01 12:07 am (UTC)I get high-pitched whistly noises in my ears regularly, and briefly - this has been the case since my childhood, I think. No migraines, however, and no loss of other hearing in that ear.
