Adventures in Childhood Medical Care
Feb. 28th, 2011 08:42 pmOver the weekend April started complaining about her ears, and this morning she still had a low fever, so we took her in to see the pediatrician around lunchtime. Yes, she has a small infection in both ears secondary to her cold or whatever's causing her congestion and coughing.
This means that we have to go though the whole process of getting her to take her medicine again.
As a result, I wound up covered in sticky white antibiotic this evening (though I think tomorrow will go much more smoothly).
I didn't bother really reading the label of the bottle closely, so I didn't notice at first that she's taking sulfameth something-or-other. And I am allergic to sulfa drugs. Remember the part where I was covered in it? Yeah. I washed my hands very, very carefully, and then I changed my shirt.
Meanwhile, Simone spent all morning saying "I going to the doctor! I get a band-aid!" So much for vaccination trauma.
