Apr. 6th, 2011 02:48 pmI noticed something today about the common shared narrative of the many, many urban myths floating around about Sesame Street's content choices. You know the ones: Cookie Monster no longer eats cookies. They don't show "Monsterpiece Theatre" any more b/c of the pipe smoking. Katy Perry's boobs. And so on.
It's this: there appears to be a collective need to have a narrative where the show caves in a ridiculously overcompensatory manner to the demands of political correctness.
