I am all dressed up for a surprise last-minute appearance at Perverts Put Out! tonight (I wasn't supposed to be performing). April looks at my costume, which involves a lot of buckles and boots and that sort of thing, and says, "you're going dancing?"

I told her yes. So now I am looking up Ashkenaz's dance schedule so they can go dancing with me soon.

If she'd been older I'd've clarified, but I couldn't figure out how to do so in terms a two-and-a-half-year-old would understand. (And there's a good chance that if I'd said not really, here's a blah-blah explanation, she could have corrected me...) So, she got to be proud that she figured something out about adults, and she got to ask for something that she wants, and I'm all for both.
