You can tell how LJ has changed (not dead, changed, kthx) by the fact that I do not have a zillion messages on my friendslist about the small earthquake we just had.

I'm kinda afraid to click over to Facebook, though.

It was a mile from our house. Kaboom! I screamed. Heart still racing.

Didn't feel a thing here in the city. Saw tweets from the East and South Bay saying they did though.

G. felt it, over on the other side of the house, but I only heard the house creak.

We felt it here in SJ, although the trucks on the street this morning caused a lot more rumbling and window rattling. Hard to tell the diff sometimes.

And I'm just a few blocks from you, and felt nothing at all!

Facebook is the only reason I knew we had an earthquake. (I never feel a thing in this building.)

FB, btw, is blowing up. I had 8 posts within the first 3 minutes after it.

I'm working in Oakland and didn't even feel it. Bummed.

I was at work, and therefore unable to either facebook or LJ about it. But I felt it, and so did all my clients. That was a thrilling end to the workday!

I was something like nine thousand miles away, but honestly, a 3 point something temblor is not an earthquake, it's a sneeze.

This one, from 22 miles away, was one hard jolt. People made more of a fuss about it because it's the 105th anniversary of the SF Big One.

And also the birthday of both my kids, which is why I am here instead of there (the big present this year is to bring my daughter here to Prague to visit my son).

For the hundredth anniversary, which was also their 19th and 27th birthdays respectively, we went to the big celebration in the City and watched the parade including the garbage collectors doing synchronized routines with big bins on wheels.

I was honestly surprised that it was so far away and so small. It felt far away but big, or near but small. But *every* little tremblor used to get play on LJ.
