What I've Been Doing All Week

My mother, father, and two adult sisters have been in town all week.
Saturday we attempted to accomplish Grannyfest, in which two live grannies Skyped with one virtual granny in our living room, but we were foiled by a glitchy connection.
Sunday we had dim sum with Debbie and Alan.
Monday my parents bought Hello Kitty backpacks for the ladies while visiting my uncle in Petaluma.
Tuesday we all went to the Oakland Zoo for the day. The kids are old pros at the zoo by now and knew exactly where they wanted to go, but it was my family's first time. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
Wednesday we walked down to Children's Fairyland and spent the day there. We saw many farm animals and discovered that "alpaca" is a really hard word to say. Also, Simone is obsessed with the ferris wheel. And they're both in love with the Three Little Pigs' house.
Thursday we drove down to Monterey to visit the aquarium. The drive both to and fro apparently went fine; I was in the other car. Octopus, crabs, jellyfish and starfish were the big hits. Flamingos, penguins, seahorses and sea otters get honorable mentions.
Today my parents went down to Santa Cruz on their own and came back up for a goodbye dinner. They leave early tomorrow morning.
I should be completely exhausted and strung out. As it is I am happily, goofily tired.
