*This* is how verbal my child is.
Jan. 10th, 2012 09:16 pmToday Simone, as is occasionally her wont, slept straight through from naptime to bedtime. When that happens, I change her into night diapers and pajamas and tuck her back to bed; she usually wakes up just enough to help get out of her clothes but often enough doesn't even open her eyes.
While I was pulling on her pajamas, April came over to the changing table and said excitedly, "She's waking up!" I said to April, "Leave your sister alone."
Then Simone piped up. She spoke very clearly. Eyes still closed, body still limp in my arms.
"I just want to say something to April. April, I'm not awake. I'm asleep. I'm asleep, April."
I zipped up her pajamas and carried her sleep-limp body back to the bed, where she curled up on her side, eyes never opening once.
