pantryslutI forgot to note this earlier this week: I rode the green Free Downtown Oakland Shuttle buses for the first time on Tuesday.
They are crowded during lunch hour, which I took as actually a good sign. Less crowded on off-hours. Easy to hop on and off wherever. People were friendly and accommodating despite the crowding. I liked 'em. Very handy for extended shopping visits, which are totally a thing you can do now in downtown Oakland! I am still adjusting to this new reality, I'm ashamed to say. Also handy for getting to Jack London Square via public transit -- with the BART strike looming, I am considering taking the kids on a ferry ride in the next week or two.
Also possibly handy for dim sum excursions. Just thinking out loud.
