Before the baseball game yesterday, I went to the orthodontist.

I now have even more new and odd rubber bandage to wear. Pics coming soon.

They took the chains off my upper palate. I kind of miss them.

Also, my molars hurt like fuck. I can't chew a thing.

*

After the orthodontist, I decided to take advantage of the fact that I was in the city with hours to kill, to go first to Tartine for breakfast (iced tea and banana cake, b/c I could chew banana cake and it was too hot for hot tea), and then to sit in Dolores Park for a while.

While walking, I took a picture of some sidewalk graffiti. If I can ever get it off my phone, I will post it.

*

And then there was the ball game. It was fun. The Giants lost. I took a lot of cell phone pictures (duh! Bring camera next time!) to prove how close we were to the action. I didn't get sunburnt.

I ran across a lovely review of Dead. Nude. Girls.:

"It's fascinating story of love and undeath and an odd twist on I guess what could be called as the zombie genre, only not so much in the case of "Dead. Nude. Girls." Because we know Lily is dead, and a stripper, there is a bit of the grotesque, but like the scene of a car crash we cannot look away. It makes us uncomfortable. And unlike, perhaps, a car crash, we do not want to look away because Selke's story is really good and one which holds the reader's attention until the last word.

Very much recommended."

In the box this week:

Apricots
Peaches
Cherries
Strawberries
and a Chicago (14") softball-sized watermelon -- so cute!

What the heck am I going to do with all of this? Whatever it is, I think I am going to die happy.

(It's really the apricots that feel overwhelming. So many! Maybe I will make jam again this year.)

also:

Corn
Zucchini
Green beans
Carrots
Garlic

I need to find someone to donate carrots to. I have too many. Potatoes also, but less so.

I miss peas already. I want to make a salad with peas and stuff.

Also I am craving bologna, which is just weird.

I fixed a certain typo in the last post. I know I am not immune to them, but that particular one made me feel like I've been wandering around in public with my fly down. Oh well.

Waitaminnit. I point out that the pre-pregnancy thing wouldn't be necessary if we had universal health care in this country and she calls me a libertarian?!
