In and out of the house

1. I went dancing on Saturday night with G., after we'd settled the girls in to sleep. This scheme seems entirely do-able for future events, and I am very excited by the idea. Too bad the club itself didn't quite live up to its promise. The first half hour was good! And still, I had fun. Also, I apparently do a quite decent Axl Rose karaoke imitation. Who knew?

2. My mother came to visit briefly on her way to a conference in L.A.; she stopped by Sunday afternoon and all of Monday. Sunday was preceded by some health antics with my grandparents, unfortunately, but all seems to be resolved for the moment. It was nice to have a chance to show off the twins at their sociable best.
