The story on Peter Watts made the Nintendo Wii news crawl last night (!).

I have mixed feelings about this.

This is as good a time as any to say

Unless things change drastically in the next few weeks (i.e. at least one of the unemployed people in the house finds a good, solid, well-paying, benefits-laden job), I will not be going to WisCon this year.

Between finances and the logistics of transporting two 20-month-old kids more than halfway across the country, it just doesn't seem worth it this time around. I am sad, and I will miss you all, but never fear, I will be back.
