I know where the idea that having an affair is of a kind with sexual assault comes from. And where the idea that 'power is sexy' -- when you're a powerful white man -- comes from, too.

It comes from the utter inability to see women as possessing any autonomous sexual desire whatsoever. If all women are objects of *your* desire, the line between assault and a little on the side can indeed get very blurry. And if women in your worldview have no sexual desire per se, but desire sex only as a means to an end, then the end would no doubt be power, yes?
