Jul. 30th, 2004 10:14 amSo we celebrated
imnotandrei's new job-to-be mightily last night, killing most of a bottle of wine (OK, I killed most of a bottle of wine*, he was driving) and eating delicious French-ish food at that place in Albany that
wild_irises introduced us to. Because, among other things, Steven can get one of his favorite foods, French onion soup. We have to go back when I am in a seafood mood, because the table next to us had bouillabase that looked delicious, and they serve mussels and frites so I can feel like I'm in Belgium again. (Along with a bottle of Duvel beer, of course.)
The place was dead when we arrived, because of the convention. The second server had gone home. Of course, once the convention was over, the poor place was slammed and the bus boy and bartender had to pitch in. Not that we were neglected at any point.
They cheered when we left, not because we were horrible customers, but because we were the last customers. But we could pretend that the cheer was for us, too.
* I hardly ever drink, but no, I did not get drunk and I do not have a hangover.
