Downtown Food Revisited
Sep. 30th, 2004 04:57 pmYesterday I took a short walk in a neglected direction, and stumbled across two new Japanese joints. One of which serves -- wait for it -- the Sumoburger!
That makes at least five Japanese places within easy walking distance of my office.* I have only tried three of these, and the little bento place is still the best by far.
So why is Japanese food so popular with the downtown crowd? C'mon, let's speculate wildly!
* Of course, everyone has different definitions of "easy walking distance." One of my co-workers asked where I went for lunch each day, and when I told her I usually head down toward Pine, she replied, "that far?" I think it's 3-4 blocks.
