Just a short note:

It's interesting to me that so many of you interpreted "the operation" in the previously posted poem as referring to laser eye surgery. Makes sense, but the poem was written long before that particular procedure became so popular. Just sayin'.

Oh, I knew it was cataract surgery, but the topic had been raised and so I commented on it. :)

But if the poem had been written last year, say, it could be referring to either surgery, or both, in the way that poems do.
