Fashion Crisis: The Porn Academy Awards

So I've decided to attend the Adult Video News Awards ceremony this year, just because I can, finally. The AVN Awards are the Academy Awards of porn, essentially. The big awards event of the industry. All fancy-schmancy and stuff.

So it's time to start worrying about what I'm going to wear.

Things to take into consideration:

1) I am a lowly reviewer.
2) I am a fat girl in a very body-conscious industry. (This does not necessarily mean I want to cover up.)
3) I am not usually a dress-up kind of gal.
4) I'm willing to spend some money on this, but not a lot, and only on something I'd likely wear again.
5) Considering the nature of the industry, fetish and goth formalwear are more than acceptable choices.
6) I think I want to go femme for this one. I'm going to be anxious enough without having to push the gender boundary alone.

Oh, and 7) I have a cool tattoo that I wouldn't mind showing off.

Without going into detail into the contents of my closet -- I own a very nice custom corset, and maybe some tux fixin's, but that's it for formalwear, I think -- anyone have any shopping or general fashion suggestions?

I have worked as a camerman and occasional director in amateur porn since 1999 (under a secret name, of course) and most of the people in the industry are very accepting and non-judgemental. It's amazing how "family-like" it can be, but the full-timers really have no other people to relate to or trust but those in the same biz. But there's some evil bastards in the biz, too. But I'm just a dabbler and really don't hang with the pro crowd.

one of my best friends is a stunningly beautiful fatgrrl, and she does amazing things a corset and a long flowy skirt with a shawl for her arms. it ends up being a va-va-voom amazing outfit and she turns even more heads dressed as such than she usually does.
