Think, think...
Strawberry baskets.
Yes, those little plastic baskets that strawberries and other soft fruit come in.
Free-range baskets, it turns out, are better than ones I give her, too, and of course fresh is bestest. We used to have a stack of baskets stashed on a low shelf in the kitchen. Fritzi used to poach from it, despite repeated warnings against it.
I moved the stack into the recycling bin the other day. But the recycling hasn't gone out yet. She'd been ignoring them -- until today, when I brought home a basket from the farmer's market. She immediately fished one out of the bin, and when I attempted to scold her, retreated down the hall with the basket in her mouth. She was too cute to chastise further. So now Fritzi has three strawberry baskets scattered about the apartment. I was hoping to keep it down to two -- you'd think that would be adequate. Apparently not. Already, she's sniffing around the recycling bin again.
She actually chewed one to death just last week. Fritzi, Mighty Huntress, Death To Strawberry Baskets.
(Just you wait, kitten. Someday I will have my camera ready.)
