Today at lunch I saw two poor people trapped inside a giant billboard, forced to walk in tandem through the streets of downtown San Francisco. The smiles plastered on their faces can only be accounted for by good drugs.

Huh. Down here in the Palo Alto area, it's been reasonably common in the last several years to see someone standing on a street corner waving a four-foot arrow-shaped sign advertising a new Quizno's opening, or an apartment complex that's having specials on rent, or suchlike.

And these people are not only smiling, but enthusiastically bouncy. It's vaguely creepy.

Have you seen the "good nails, good boyfriend" guy near Noah's?? I loathe him with every fiber of my being. If I'm with M, he'll say "good nails, good boyfriend for both." Even if we're holding hands. Even after I've said several times "Dude, I'm gay."
