they're on to me
Mar. 30th, 2005 09:30 amWe lost a temp yesterday -- he made the mistake of admitting he was still looking for another job, when he'd been brought on in a temp-to-hire situation, and got the boot.
This morning, one of my co-workers came and whispered in my ear: "What did you do to B. to scare him off like that?"

Date: 2005-03-30 06:32 pm (UTC)I had an agency once place me into a major bank mailroom once, at a low pay, when I'd been looking for a higher paying data entry position (I typed 100 wpm and 10-key at 12000 kph at the time). Instead of saying anything at the mailroom, I took the job and advised the agency of my actual desires, and left it at that. Three weeks later they handled the messy stuff for me and got me into the job I really wanted to be in.
If I'd said something to the *bank* OTOH, I probably would've been jobless for those 3 weeks...
I sure hope I never have to work temp again!
Alas, poor B.
