new acquisitions
Apr. 4th, 2005 11:25 amSaturday, we made an impromptu trip to East Bay Restaurant Supply, which was having its annual sale. It advertised this sale with a giant inflatable gorilla on the roof. How can you not love this place?
It gets better, though. Inside, they were serving pizza and nachos and cookies and other assorted snacks to the customers as they shopped. Also, if you spent over $200, they had a prize wheel to spin.
We spent over $200, but only because we decided to take this opportunity to buy the food processor that Steven's mom sent us the check for back around Christmastime. We also bought tongs for G., and a double-handled saucepot to replace the icky but practical aluminum one I scrounged from my first SF housemate. Also a couple hostess aprons for nefarious purposes, and three knife guards.
I think that under the circumstances, this was remarkably restrained of us. I almost bought a cast iron grill pan, too, but decided to wait.
So, yes, now I own a sparkly new KitchenAid food processor. Where the hell I am going to put it is another question, much less what I intend to use it for. I wonder, though, if the new pot accounts for my inexplicable macaroni and cheese craving. Well, that plus the weather.
P.S. I won a spreader marked with the store's logo. I think it'd make a good spanking toy, too.

Date: 2005-04-04 07:53 pm (UTC)When you said spreader, my brain instantly tacked the word bar onto the end, and I was trying to figure out what EBRS would be selling that resembled a spreader bar.
