A co-worker just came and admired my small stand of postcards on the cubicle wall -- A Man Ray photo, a Max Ernst painting, a snapshot of Louise Brooks, some Russian poster art, etc., and asked me:

"On your off time, are you one of those people who wears all black and puts makeup under their eyes?"

I laughed and told her no, but I understood why she might think so.

(This is the same co-worker, btw, who was wondering about the "pot" in "Potlatch.")
