(a found poem)

Was I mad?
Yes I was.

I am not or ever have been a racist.
This is not hate speech
If you folks can't handle that, well stick it.

But,

three of the worst things to happen to modern poetics are
Saul Williams
Love Jones
and Def Poetry Jam.

I don't have problems with poets of color.
I have problems with poets of color
who fall back on the 'kill whitey-
I-suffer-more-than-you-do-cuz-I’m-colored' material.

The same goes for the gay and lesbian poets.

When white men bag on other races and sexual preferences,
we are chastized because we are white men.

But yet when poets of other races
(and alternative sexualities)
bag on white folk
(white men in particular)
it's ok.
Well, fuck you all.

Angry white man=KKK.
Angry black/asian/latino/latina/gay/lesbian=activist.
Unfair?
You bet it is.

Judges that were selected were just hating on whitey.
If you weren't black, suffering, and vocal
about being black and suffering,
you got dicked.

I'm sorry that I'm the wrong color
and follow the wrong sexual preference.

Yes I was.
Very mad.

I could see how it could be taken out of context.

If I may be allowed
to defend
myself
here.

okay, it's not about one post, though, for me.

i trust you.

convince me.

it was also about the post before and after.

Lori, you KNOW me. Or maybe you don't. But I'm not the kind of gurl/guy to censor.
