My brother finally caught up with me today by phone to wish me a happy birthday. I told him about the homemade pasties Cindy gave me for my birthday.
"Pahsties," he corrected. "Or so it's been drilled into my head by [his wife's] relatives."
"Yeah, yeah, so they say," I said. "As far as I'm concerned, both are correct. And you can pronounce sauna any way you like, too."
