Oct. 26th, 2003 11:48 pmLast week may have had its difficult moments, but this weekend has been just fabulous, thank you.
G. looks fine in a suit. And his breakfast experiment -- croissant French toast with caramel apples -- was pretty darn good.
Heather is a wonderful friend who has the added virtue of being even more adventurous than I am when it comes to dim sum. "I don't eat innards," she said; "every few years I try them again to see if I still don't like them, and I still don't. If we get any by accident, I'll just leave them for you guys."
Our newest dim sum discovery: "fried milk." I think it's actually fried milk custard, with some sort of flavoring, but I'm not sure (it could be coconut milk, I suppose). A slab of firm white stuff, wrapped in crispy batter. Whatever it is, it's delicious.
Gosh am I glad that my stomach finally settled down and I'm off the saltines-and-applesauce diet.
