I know. I've got ice cream in the freezer that nobody wants right now. It's damn tasty, but damn cold. Sad.

Disappoint me how? It's not the claims per se that bother me so much(though the metaphor does), but the assertion without supporting evidence. The "everybody knows" quality of most of such statements, in other words.
