My mom is at this conference! Or, she will be tomorrow. She is presenting something on nanotechnology. Then we will eat dinner with her before she goes off to visit her parents.
Isn't there? :) I am utterly charmed by being able to tell people that my mother is a leading nanotechnology researcher.
It's also a big improvement over the blank looks I tend to get when I say merely that "my mother is a professor of packaging at Michigan State University." (Even "her specialty is plastics recycling" tends only to get a polite nod.)
