Last night I learned that, apparently, I am a freak: many, many readers expressed some intimidation at how many people were at the reading. (A Different Light was packed to overflow.) I would have found that comforting -- look, so many people, here to see me (and everyone else)! We must be worth listening to! I am way more intimidated by small audiences (oh, it's hard to read in front of four people, all bright and attentive in the front row), and by people I know in the audience. So you know I'm going to be a wreck tonight ;) Unless you bring all of your friends whom I haven't met yet and pack the house! Yes, that's the solution!

I agree. Small audiences are unnerving, empty rooms are vile, hate that. Would much rather have a FULL room!

What you said.

ALWAYS. 'Tis better to have warped many than to have barely warped at all.

What was the ADL reading, BTW?

It was for "Baby Remember My Name," an antho of under-30 queer girl writing edited by Michelle Tea. (I wasn't reading myself.)
