weekend in miniature

1. I got my hair cut.

2. I cleaned my kitchen.

3. I cooked a chicken. I was a little too fancy with it (not that I was
very fancy). Not that it wasn't delicious. But next time, just salting it
will do too.

4. I got called "sir" as I held a door, even though I was showing
cleavage. (I did not mind.)

5. Friends who squeal with glee when I show them the bug preserved in the
amber of my shiny new pendant (we got the chain for it this weekend) are
the best friends ever.

6. Roller derby is still awesome.

7. Guillermo Gomez-Pen~a is also awesome. The Starry Plough is a pretty
nice venue, too.

8. I didn't clean the bathroom. Or sort through my clothes.

9. Breakfast burritos. Yum.

10. Don't forget to ask me anything.

Bugz is kool. Bean has a couple of coffee-table books that are just pictures of beetles. There are some fancy-ass beetles out there!

Bean is also starting a new series of beetle-jewelry (why yes, there is a connection) which promises great fabulosity. They'll be mostly pendants and pins, but I'm'a make her give me one that's just a pocket-piece, because they're so wonderful and just the right size for a hand.

(They're so wonderful that I stoled her original model yesterday just so I could hold it while I was editing. It was okay while she was asleep, but I felt awful later when she told me that she'd been looking everywhere and had lost about an hour's worth of work. I hadn't meant for my stealingosity to extend into the afternoon.)
