Nov. 12th, 2003 06:03 pmThings I need in my life:
1) A career change. This is why I'm taking a copyediting class, and why I'm applying to graduate school. Cuz I'm tired of freelance writing. Worn out.
2) A hands-on hobby. Where I can make something and see it when it's done. Cooking is my primary hobby in this regard, but I could use another I think.
3) A fitness activity. Preferably with an upper-body component to help with RSI prevention. I am in serious jeopardy of becoming a couch potato for the first time in my life.
Suggestions?

hobby/fitness
Date: 2003-11-13 05:40 pm (UTC)Walking is still my favorite fitness - no need to join a gym, but maybe not so upper body unless you swing your arms around. do you want team vs individual? cardio vs muscles? volleyball? swimming?
Re: hobby/fitness
Date: 2003-11-13 09:43 pm (UTC)I think individual activities are probably best suited for my temperament, though buddies to motivate me to gett off my butt are always a bonus. I think I still have fat-girl trauma around most team sports.
And I think I'd enjoy some form of art as my hands-on hobby, too. Maybe I should take a class (after this set of classes is through). Maybe litho or some other form of printmaking? Some form of book arts might be fun, but I worry (perhaps needlessly) of becoming too book-focused in my activities that way.
