Nov. 18th, 2003 05:45 pmI have new shoes.
Since I had to go into the city for work today anyway, I went to the store in the Sunset whose name I can't remember to buy these shoes.
They're by Apex. My previous shoes were Eccos, and I liked them a lot, but these are even more comfortable. This is partly because they are of palpably orthopedic design, with the very square toe so characteristic of such shoes. (I should know, I had to wear orthopedics for a few years in high school.) Since my feet are proportionally smaller than the rest of me, though, they just make my feet look normal-sized, not like I'm wearing big dykey clodhoppers. At least this is what I keep telling myself.
They don't *feel* like big dykey clodhoppers. I tried on a couple more stylin'-yet-orthopedic styles, and they were too heavy for my tastes. These are actually light-feeling, if not looking.
And they're black. And leather.
I will need a pair of comfortable yet stylish shoes for more special occasions. Maybe one with a chunky heel for that andro (gynous, not oid) vibe. But not until either me or the boy have a new job, I think.
