Me too! *All* cultural production is art! We can talk about whether it's good or bad art, but that's a different convo than "but is it art?" That's about defining a standard by which we can dismiss without engaged critique. "I don't even have to consider or discuss this, because it is Not Art." Fie, I say.

Hmm. I used to say that Life is Performance Art, and that All Clothing is Drag. I think I'll want to take this one up with Bean before I venture an opinion.

I'm sure she'd agree with all of your reasons for agreeing, but I'm not sure she'd agree with Gallant's statement. (But then again, maybe she would. We'll not know for awhile since she's fast asleep.)
