Dec. 1st, 2003 11:35 amI think it's winter plus rain that is the deadly combination. Summer rains never seem so bad, but winter rain is, in some ways, more miserable than snow. It's not so bad now, and it looks to be a year when we get overcast breaks between storms, so I'm not about to slink off and slit my wrists or anything.
I think fog is more insidious than anyone gives it credit for, too. Little cat's feet, my ass.
And my neighborhood on a Sunday night? Dead. Of course, I took a walk in the general direction of downtown, which helps -- maybe Chinatown was hoppin', for all I know. But I doubt it. I felt sad for all the restaranteurs in their empty shops, looking tired and bored, slumped at dining tables in almost identical postures.
